5 Philadelphia Eagles draft picks that Howie Roseman got right
Has the Philadelphia Eagles’ general manager had any draft success?
This may not be something that you want to think about right now, given the Philadelphia Eagles‘ current state of affairs, but you’ve probably asked yourself this before. Has Howie Roseman done anything right outside of that 2017 season? Seriously, all of his drafts have been trash right?
While it seems as though the obvious answer is no, considering all of the head-scratching draft selections that he has made as of late, one must consider the fact that he’s been with the Eagles since 2000 and has held the title of general manager for the Eagles on two separate occasions.
Roseman was first promoted to the general manager’s chair in 2010, working alongside head coach Andy Reid. He remained in this position until 2015, when Reid’s replacement, Chip Kelly took over and assumed full control of personnel, including how to utilize draft picks.
Philly’s fans can argue that, during his first tenure as a general manager, Reid and Kelly had the ultimate decision-making power. Still, Roseman was extremely involved with scouting and had a voice in who was ultimately drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Another reason he was hired back in 2010 is that at the time, he was credited with being the most accurate in his player assessments when compared to everyone else in the organization. Sure, again, both Reid and Kelly had the final say during their tenures, so some fans may find this list to be controversial, but Roseman did have a hand in a lot of these picks. With that being said, here are the five greatest draft picks by Howie Roseman.
