Philadelphia Eagles: 2 Thoughts on an obvious replacement for Howie Roseman
1. Here’s as wise a choice as any for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Here’s your disclaimer. Though this can’t be proven, it’s difficult to imagine a scenario in which the Philadelphia Eagles move on from Howie Roseman. The chairman and CEO, Jeffrey Lurie, loves this guy. It feels like the head coach, Doug Pederson, is on a shorter leash, but like the Roseman theory, that can’t be proven.
Let’s just say Philly makes the move though. The immediate reaction is to ask who they’d hire in his place. Theories can be tossed out there. Some make more sense than others. This one may not even be something the Eagles organization is thinking about, but what about Louis Riddick?
Some of you might be saying ‘Wait! The Monday Night Football guy?’. Others of you might be referencing the Las Vegas Raiders (they were in Oakland at the time) deciding to hire Mike Mayock off of the NFL Network as their G.M. (that decision is still under the microscope by the way).
Make no mistake about it though. This wouldn’t be some wild flier that was taken on a television analyst. Again, no disrespect is intended to Mike Mayock, but Riddick is a different species. He knows how to do the job, and if we’re naming candidates, his name should be at the top of the Eagles list as he knows how to do the job, and he has some familiarity with the team.
