2. The Philadelphia Eagles have to stop coddling Carson Wentz.

Jason Kelce has earned the respect of everyone in this franchise and fan base. During his sitdown with the media, he lamented that Wentz is the only guy taking the hit for what’s going wrong with the Eagles offense. That isn’t true, is it? Then again, even if 11 was shouldering most of the load, then so what? Can’t the argument be made that Wentz and maybe Doug Pederson have been the two biggest issues on this team from an offensive standpoint?

Can you name someone who’s robbed the Eagles of field goal opportunities more often because of turnovers than Carson Wentz? Can you name anyone who has turned the ball over more or put his defense in less-than-favorable positions more often?

Sure, guys have missed blocks, running backs have fumbled, and wide receivers have dropped passes, but has any of that happened more often than a gut-wrenching and head-scratching decision by 11? Who else has been given more chances when they seemingly haven’t done anything to prove that they have earned them?

To be honest, Wentz should have been benched a while ago. It’s Jalen Hurts’ time, and all resources need to be dedicated to making sure he’s ready, not making sure we’re massaging Wentz’s ego so he’ll feel better about needing to sit. It’s the NFL ladies and gentlemen, not Pop warner Football where everybody gets a trophy.

You may not know this, but since the start of 2018, Carson Wentz, as the starter, has led this team to a 17-21-1 record. That’s 39 games, and he has a sub-.500 record. He hasn’t had enough opportunities you say?
