The Philadelphia Eagles break their four-game losing streak.

Holy moly, Batman, the Philadelphia Eagles pulled off a huge upset win over the New Orleans Saints, who were the number-one seed in the NFC at the time. It was a wild and emotional game for both the Eagles and their fans, to say the least. The Birds were able to squeak by the Saints 24-21, and that keeps their playoffs hopes alive.

For fans who may have missed the game, here’s a recap. The Iggles started by winning the toss, deferring to the Saints, and forcing them to punt. That gave the Eagles the ball and some momentum early.

Philadelphia had some success driving down the field until they stalled. Both teams followed this pattern until the second quarter, where the Birds put up 17 points on New Orleans. Philly’s defense held the Who Dat boys to a goose egg heading into the half.

At the beginning of the third quarter, Philadelphia had their issues with getting to the red zone again. Meanwhile, the Saints were putting up 14 points. Things looked bleak for the Birds heading into the fourth quarter, but a huge defensive stop was made as Josh Sweat’s strip-sack gave the Eagles the ball back. Philly would drive down the field and get into the end zone to help put the game out of reach.

Disaster struck as a Jalen Hurts fumble led to another Saints touchdown. New Orleans’ onside kick attempt that followed didn’t work, and Philly recovered, in essence securing the game. Is everyone caught up? Good! Here are the heroes and zeroes from a Week 14 win.
