The Philadelphia Eagles probably aren’t moving on, but it isn’t impossible.

Okay, everybody calm down just a tad. There’s this old saying that goes something like this. The most popular player on every team is its backup quarterback. That theory is taking on a whole new meaning on the Monday following a Philadelphia Eagles victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 14. The questions about what everyone should take from this are all over the place.

Where has this been all season? Why does this team play so much harder for Nick Foles and Jalen Hurts than they play for Carson Wentz? Why was Doug Pederson seemingly frightened to give his rookie quarterback any credit after the game on Sunday?

How about this? Why does he feel as though he needs to evaluate something before he names a starter for next week’s game? Hmmm. Maybe he has to get the green light from somewhere else because we were accurate about our theories that he has minimal input in the final decision?

Here’s the skinny. It’s doubtful that Carson Wentz leaves this team in 2021. The salary cap is sure to shrink after COVID-19 made it impossible for fans to attend games in 2020. Trading Wentz would also cost Philly a ton of money. Nothing’s impossible though. This is the same team that traded Sam Bradford eight days before the start of the 2016 season.

Let’s investigate a rumor and maybe start a few others. Here are four possible destinations in the Eagles are interested in moving on from 11 come next offseason.
