The Philadelphia Eagles have serious concerns with these last two issues.

3. Despite the success, the Jalen Hurts pick was still a bad idea.

Even though Hurts played well and provided the spark that the Iggles needed to win a game, this team had other needs that should have been addressed in the second round. The Birds could have gone with a safety, a non-developmental linebacker, another cornerback, anything. And, there were options available in the second round.

Then again, Jalen Hurts could be the future of the Philadephia Eagles, and if he is, the 2020 NFL Draft will always be remembered as one that was puzzling to Eagles fans. They passed on a ton of talented players, and here we are. This team needs to seriously start building for the future instead of living in the past.

4. Carson Wentz is a problem for this Eagles offense.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what happened to Carson Wentz this season, but there are multiple options. This was by far the worst season of his career, and anyone can see the climate change when Wentz sat and Hurts stepped in. 11 lost all pocket presence, trust in his receivers, and, dare we say, he even lost the trust in himself.

These issues will take more than coaching to fix, but having solid coaching will help. Wentz will have to find his confidence again cause he will officially have competition at the quarterback spot going into 2021.
