Once again, the Philadelphia Eagles must employ the ‘next-man-up’ mentality.

If you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, this next statement will, no doubt, be one that you’ve heard before. It still bears repeating. When the 2020 NFL regular season began, Philly’s offensive line was supposed to look like this: Andre Dillard, Isaac Seumalo, Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks, and Lane Johnson.

As you know, Dillard and Brooks didn’t even make it to the regular season, and injuries have forced the Birds to juggle their offensive line every week. Don’t look now, but it’s time to play musical chairs again.

With Lane Johnson, Sua Opeta, and Jason Peters already lost for the season, more bad news came on the Tuesday leading up to Week 15’s game. According to the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Philly’s 145th-overall selection in 2020’s NFL Draft, Jack Driscoll, will miss the remainder of the season with what’s being called ‘a a significant MCL sprain’.

Here’s a quote:

"The rookie toughed it out to finish the game against the Saints but further testing showed the full extent of the injury. (This is a) tough one for him and the team. He was playing well."

Though you hate to see injuries, we all know that they’re a part of the game. With that being said, the Eagles, though you may be sick of hearing this, are still eligible for a playoff berth. It’s time to employ the next-man-up mentality yet again. Here are four Birds with the most to gain following Driscoll’s injury.
