Jalen Hurts has made us almost forget about Cowboys Week.

Just in case any recent news concerning Jalen Hurts has made you are unaware, for the Philadelphia Eagles, it’s Dallas Cowboys week. Do you know how important that is? We’re talking about one of the three teams that Birds fans hate the most, and depending on what Eagles fan you know or are talking about, this is the most unlikable team in the entire NFL.

How did the week leading up to another clash with that team from Texas get thrown on the backburner then? Oh yeah. We remember now. It was that quarterback controversy thing. That’s right. That’s right. Jalen Hurts is amazing, and Carson Wentz is unhappy and thinks a starting role in the NFL should be a lifetime appointment whether he’s earned it or not.

Well, if you’re a fan of a team that has all of that going on, it’s unfortunate that those are the conversations that monopolize the headlines. It can’t be ignored that there’s a game to play in Week 16. The fact that it’s Cowboys Week adds a little extra motivation, but here’s something of note that you might find interesting.

This probably isn’t the Jalen Hurts comparison that you were looking for.

Recently, Cowboys Executive Vice President, CEO, and Director of Player Personnel Stephen Jones joined Kevin and Cory on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas to discuss a little Cowboys football among other things, and Philly’s new signal-caller, Jalen Hurts, came up.

Jones says Hurts reminds him of Dak Prescott. Take a look at this one.

"You have to admire what he’s doing. We watched the Philly game yesterday against the Cardinals. (It’s) just amazing what he’s doing as a rookie, just stepping right in. You hear he’s got a ton of respect on the team, (that) he’s a hard worker. To some degree, he reminds you, I’m not going to go as far as to say all the details of (his skillset), (but) his leadership, competitiveness, and the success he’s having quickly reminds (me) a lot of our guy, Dak."

Yes, it’s hard to hear any statement in which an Eagle is compared to any member of the Dallas Cowboys. Heck, it was hard to watch Randall Cunningham suit up for the Cowboys many moons ago. Remember that? Jones is a fan of Hurts’ ability, so much so that he revealed the Cowboys actually placed Hurts on their 2020 NFL Draft board. Here’s more.

"We’re going to have our hands full when we play Jalen. His success in college speaks for itself. He had some real highs and got knocked down a little bit when Tua (Tagovailoa) came in, and he stepped right back up again for Alabama and helped them finish off a championship, and then moved over to Oklahoma (and had success there). (It) seems like everywhere he goes he just wins, so, hats off to him."

No Eagles fan needs to be reminded that this is Hurts’ third start in the NFL and his first start versus Dallas, Can you imagine what it will do for the hype train if he leaves Jerry’s World with a win?

Trending. B.G. finally gets his Pro Bowl nod. light

Philly concludes their 2020 run with a game versus the Washington Football Team, another of the Eagles’ most bitter rivals. Sure there’s some disdain there, as there is with the New York Giants. You won’t find a Birds fan that likes either team, but there’s something about Cowboys week. Maybe it’s because their fans are annoying. Whatever the case, this is a game no Birds fan wants to lose.
