There may be some light at the end of this Philadelphia Eagles tunnel.

It hasn’t taken long for most to conclude that 2021 will have minimal similarities to the last 12 months that we’ve seen. Even if you’re only looking from the Philadelphia Eagles lens or a football lens in general, the first couple of days of the new year have already taught us that the new year is already full of surprises.

On New Year’s Day, Ohio State shocked the collegiate landscape by upsetting the second-ranked Clemson Tigers in a game that no one saw the Buckeyes winning except for, well, the Buckeyes. Less than 24 hours later, news came of the Texas Longhorns’ dismissal of Tom Herman which were followed by rumors of Steve Sarkisian being his eventual successor. Shortly thereafter, the Birds joined the media circus.

According to a report by the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, sources have told him that “Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz intends to allow his contract to expire and take a year off from coaching in 2021 as he contemplates retirement”. Here are three reactions to the news out of the Philadelphia Eagles nest.
