1. Are Philadelphia Eagles fans to assume this means that Doug will be back?

Though emotion will tell many that they’d like to see Doug Pederson dismissed, a more thorough review of the facts should calm you. Since being hired in 2016, he’s won a Super Bowl and led his team to postseason berths in three consecutive seasons, mostly with broken rosters. that isn’t a ground for termination.

Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie normally allows his coaches an additional year to fix things. Schwartz being allowed to walk might mean Doug is being allowed to stay. According to reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen, that should be exactly what we take from this.

Keep in mind the fact that Jim Schwartz wasn’t a Doug Pederson hire. He was a Howie Roseman hire. Maybe Doug gets some say-so in who his DC is this time around?

2. Here’s what this means for the Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 17 game.

According to a report by Ian Rapoport, someone that we all trust, the plan by the Washington Football Team is to start Alex Smith on Sunday night. The Eagles have already ruled nine players out for the Week 17 finale, including Fletcher Cox. Schwartz will coach his final game as the Eagles DC as his deal is simply being allowed to expire.

Now, that might just be a classy way of dismissing him, but he will be on the sideline for Sunday Night Football.
