The Philadelphia Eagles finally got some good press recently.

With so much controversy surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles and how the final game of the 2020 season played out, a dark cloud has once again fixated itself over this franchise. Between not knowing who the starting quarterback will be in 2021 and possibly saying goodbye to multiple veterans, there hasn’t been much for Birds fans to celebrate so far in the new year, that is until January 4th rolled around.

Some Philadelphia Eagles fans have been following second-year running back Miles Sanders on social media, so they’ve seen a lot of him posting EA Sports Madden 21 screenshots of himself. That put them among the first Birds fans who saw 26 thanking fans for helping him get added to the 2021 Pro Bowl roster.

The Philadelphia Eagles now have four players on the 2021 Pro Bowl Roster.

Sanders and Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire were declared the winners of the Madden NFL Video Game Numbers Challenge, which earned them the final two roster spots on the NFL’s all-star team.

Sanders will join Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, and Jason Kelce on a team every NFL coach would lie to lead. Typically, the vote to get players added to the roster comes down to the league’s players and coaches, but this time, the final two spots were left up to fans’ votes. For Sanders, this is his first Pro Bowl nomination.

That may not be the more desired or traditional route onto the unit, but it’s still a nod that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Long known for his ability and character, Sanders has battled injury and setbacks to have one of the more memorable seasons by an Eagles running back ever, even if the team, as a whole didn’t reach the desired result. The former Nittany Lion still has amassed over 1,000 yards from scrimmage this season despite only appearing in 12 games.

This may not count as an ‘official’ Pro Bowl selection in the long term, but it is still good to see that Sanders’ talent is being recognized in the short term (plus) he’ll earn an official nod soon). With a lot of bad press following the Eagles organization, it was time for some good news to shine through, even if it only lasts for a second.
