We’re putting five Philadelphia Eagles in the Hall of Fame discussion right now.

Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock or you’ve been more interested in the never-ending stories that surround the Philadelphia Eagles, you’ve heard the news. The voters have made their determination, and 15 NFL legends are one step closer to football immortality as they’ve been named as finalists for the 2021 class.

We all knew Peyton Manning was getting the tip of the cap. Here’s a list of everyone else who has made it to the final cut: wide receivers Torry Holt, Calvin Johnson, and Reggie Wayne, linebackers Clay Matthews, Sam Mills, and Zach Thomas, defensive backs Ronde Barber and Charles Woodson, safeties LeRoy Butler and John Lynch, defensive end Jared Allen, defensive end and defensive tackle hybrid Richard Seymour, offensive tackle Tony Boselli.

We can argue about why Eric Allen has been ignored (again), but still, it’s hard to argue with the validity of there being an argument for any of these guys being named. For guys like Randall Cunningham, Seth Joyner, Clyde Simmons, and Donovan McNabb, the debate continues to rage and the wait continues (you’re all Hall of Famers in our book).

In the meantime, let’s have a little fun. Here are five current Birds that deserve Hall of Fame consideration when their playing days are over.
