It looks like it’s time for the Philadelphia Eagles to find a head coach.

There’s a rumor floating around, and it suggests this theory that the Philadelphia Eagles need a head coach. Everybody has their theories. There are also the continuing diatribes that suggest the head-coaching chair in Philly might be one that no established coach wants to sit in.

Remember, Doug Pederson wasn’t their first choice the last time, and this organization was turned down by Adam Gase. Thankfully, this franchise dodged a bullet with the latter guy. These are legitimate concerns though because if Philadelphia doesn’t change some of its business practice, it’s going to be hard to land a legitimate option to lead this team.

With the issues that Philadelphia has offensively and with the continuing quarterback dilemma, it seems as though the logical theory would be that Philly goes with someone other than San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh or Bill Belichick disciple Jerod Mayo.

Both are qualified, but Philly might be a better destination for an offensive-minded head coach. Duce Staley has survived three coaching regimes but is he truly someone that the Birds are considering or will he be pushed aside again? Conventional wisdom and history suggest the latter scenario is more believable.

We all know Todd Bowles from his time with the Birds, but he’s a much better defensive coordinator than a head coach. That has been proven. Reports state that Ohio State’s Ryan Day is another option. That one’s very interesting but needs to be mulled over a little more. With that being said, here are the top five logical candidates to fill the vacancy left by Doug Pederson.
