player. 54. . . . Marquise Goodwin, wide receiver. 13

If the Philadelphia Eagles add two more wideouts, they might be overloaded.

Be honest. By a show of hands, how many of you knew before you reached this portion of the story that Marquise Goodwin‘s jersey number was 13? Hey, there’s no need to beat yourself up or turn in your fan pass because, truthfully, no one’s ever seen him in it.

Now, Goodwin’s reason for missing the 2020 season is admirable. He has a beautiful wife, and he had a newborn child at the time. Most fathers would have taken the option to opt-out of the season due to COVID-19 concerns. A lot is going on with this Eagles wide receiver corps though.

Greg Ward seems safe, as is Jalen Reagor. Travis Fulgham is a fan favorite, but even though Philly figures to say goodbye to both DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery, the presence of JJ Arcega-Whiteside, John Hightower, and Quez Watkins means that if Philly adds another wide receiver (or two) in the 2021 NFL Draft, there may not be room for Goodwin.

Yes, he’s a burner, but there have always been questions about how sturdy he is. He’s also scheduled to make over $4.2 million in 2021. That money can be better allocated somewhere else.
