By now, the Philadelphia Eagles should be able to narrow down their selection.

Alright, Philly fans, is the excitement creeping up yet on who the Birds might choose? It should be, but before we get into the Eagles will choose at number six; they have one of their opponents from 2020 sitting in front of them, and where they go might shake up the Eagles’ draft board.

5. Cinncinatti Bengals – Ja’Marr Chase, Wide Receiver

Now, while most might think that the Dolphins could be the ones to nab LSU’s star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, that’s still up in the air. Both the Bengals’ and the Dolphins’ top draft needs are similar. Here’s how this one plays out.

With the knowledge that Miami has taken an offensive tackle, the Bengals will look for a true top-tier wide receiver for their new franchise quarterback, Joe Burrow.

The Bengals could actually go in many different directions, but with most of the top talent they need already off the board, getting a receiver and former teammate of Joe Burrow to grow with seems like a match made in Heaven.

With their first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select…

6. Philadelphia Eagles – DeVonta Smith, Wide Receiver

Just like every other team that’s making one of the first six selections, the Eagles have many needs. At six, they could pick up linebacker Micah Parsons, but that’s doubtful. A linebacker in Round 1?

They could also score with Jaylen Waddle, who was ranked higher than DeVonta Smith before his injury. They could even trade back a few spots and select cornerback Caleb Farley.

Smith is the selection here though. It just makes too much sense. He brings immediate juice to an offense that is desperate for some, and he could help open Nick Sirianni’s playbook to almost superhuman levels. This pick is really made on the notion that quarterback Carson Wentz will remain in midnight green, but Smith presents a great target for both 11 and Jalen Hurts.

Draft expert believes Eagles will ignore DeVonta Smith. dark. Next

This franchise is in a good spot draft-wise (pun intended), and with the amount of talent Philly will have to choose from at number six, they’re certain to find a game-changer (we hope). Who they will select is uncertain, but one thing isn’t. Roseman and company must bring their A-game. They’re out of time and have to begin bringing talent to this roster immediately.
