The Philadelphia Eagles land the playmaking linebacker they desperately need.

No one will ever be able to hit like Brian Dawkins did but Dylan Moses is as close as it gets. This is the type of guy who you’ll see on a lot of highlight reels blowing up running backs, tight ends, and wideouts in the open field.

The six-foot-three, 240-pound linebacker is a true athlete who will chase down almost any playmaker. The Eagles could use Moses to help prevent some of those big plays their linebacker core gave up in 2020.

When scouting prospects, football IQ is always one of the most important aspects to look for in a player. It might be one of Moses’ best attributes. The Alabama senior has a knack for knowing where the ball is going and attacking downhill. In his final two seasons with the Crimson Tide, he posted 162 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception, and four passes defended in 27 games.

Another mistake the Birds need to learn from is not investing anything at linebacker. They drafted Davion Taylor but he’s a raw prospect who needs time to develop. While he’s crazy athletic, he’ll need to play smarter down the road. Alex Singleton and T.J. Edwards showed promise but Philly can’t bank on them being stars. No one knows how high their ceilings will be and it’s best to bring in competition for them. Philly grabs their second SEC prospect in this mock draft by taking Moses.
