Justin Jefferson might be the poster child for Philadelphia Eagles draft miscues.

Let’s get something straight for once and for all. The argument that the Philadelphia Eagles shouldn’t have drafted Jalen Reagor because he played in the Big 12 against weak defenses can’t be used, not when you all love CeeDee Lamb, who, well, played in that same Big 12 Conference and played many of the same weak defenses that Jalen Reagor saw.

What would be a legitimate argument would be one that states it was ridiculous to overlook Justin Jefferson playing well on a week-in and week-out basis against some of the nation’s best defensive talent in the mighty SEC. Do you see the difference between those two statements?

In 30 career games that spanned three collegiate seasons, Jefferson racked up 165 snags, 2,415 receiving yards, and 24 trips to the end zone, including a blazing record-setting performance in the Peach Bowl versus, well, one of those Big 12 defenses.

Jefferson tallied the most receptions (14), the most receiving yards (227), and the most touchdowns (4) in the history of the Peach Bowl before helping LSU to a College Football Playoff National Championship win versus Clemson.

In the NFL, it’s been more of the same, and Birds fans could only watch helplessly as Jefferson racked up 88 receptions, 1400 receiving yards, and seven scores which dwarfed the numbers of Jalen Reagor, the guy Philly took just one spot before Minnesota took their star wideout at 22.

When Reagor finished his first season with the Birds, he had hauled in 31 receptions, 396 receiving yards, and a single touchdown. He added another score on a punt return, but that won’t mask the pain that Eagles fans feel whenever they watch Jefferson run around in that purple jersey. Welp, let’s just hope Reagor got off to a slow start, shall we?
