5 Sub-radar defensive draft prospects Philadelphia Eagles should consider
The Philadelphia Eagles need to strengthen the middle of their defense.
This former Auburn Tigers linebacker is a legit field general that would boost the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense immediately. K.J. Britt is a powerhouse in the middle of the field with the skillset to cover sideline to sideline and a ‘thump’ to go along with it.
Last week at the Reese’s Senior Bowl, Britt was constantly a standout, often setting the tone. Able to come downhill against the opposing team’s running game, Britt has the ability to diagnose quickly and react to an offensive gameplan.
Aside from linebacker Alex Singleton, the Philadelphia Eagles have more question marks than answers at the position. Despite drafting two prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Eagles need to find a young and talented linebacker to help this defense, and they need to do so immediately.
The Auburn product has the ability to play all three linebacker spots and could be just the difference-maker the Birds have needed since losing Jordan Hicks to free agency. Adding a player with Britt’s skillset and tools would give the Eagles defense a true leader in the middle of the defense and a guy that can set the tone for years to come.
