Philadelphia Eagles draft prospects: Edge rusher Dayo Odeyingbo
Despite a downward spiral for the Philadelphia Eagles and their dysfunctional franchise, they do have a few guys that they can lean on. That includes a solid running back in Miles Sanders and arguably one of the most feared defensive lines in the National Football League.
Led by veteran offensive headaches Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham, the Eagles’ front line has been one of Philly’s best defensive units. The clocks are ticking more loudly on some of their careers as Cox and Graham aren’t getting any younger, so the depth behind them is more of a conversation piece, and there are more questions than answers.
Needless to say, the Philadelphia Eagles’ front office needs to take full advantage of the 2021 NFL Draft and identify at least one pass-rushing prospect that could help the defense moving forward. We at ITI scoured the available talent in the 2021 NFL Draft and identified a few prospects that could potentially star in the city of brotherly love. Welcome edge rusher Dayo Odeyingbo to the conversation.
Here’s a Vandy pass rusher that would help the Philadelphia Eagles.
Odeyingbo is a six-foot-six, 275-pound versatile monster with one of the quickest bursts in the 2021 draft. He’s capable to kick inside and terrorize the center of an offense, shut down the opposing running game, and come off of the edge and attack the quarterback.
The thick-based prospect plays with violent hands and loves to seek out contact. He has the natural speed to chase runners down from the back end and always seems to be in the right place a the right time. Due to his high football IQ, Odeyingbo always seems to know what the offense is trying to get away with. He is also a natural leader and a team-first guy, so adding to a locker-room can only be a positive.
A quick quote that could interest Philadelphia Eagles fans.
We at ITI spoke briefly with our scouting source to ask his opinion of the Vanderbilt product. While he does not want to be named he did have this to say:
"Vanderbilt has a lot of underrated players, and to me, Dayo might be the one that has the highest ceiling. He s a big guy with a sneaky athletic ability and a great burst when he is coming at an offense. You like him when you watch his film, he does everything well and doesn’t play out of place or get his butt kicked. He would be a great get for the Philadelphia Eagles they should keep an eye on him."
The Philadelphia Eagles need to add depth to their defensive line, and adding a player with Dayo Odeyingbo’s ability would land them a player that can be a dominant force at the next level. With a bit of development and time, he possesses the tools and skillset to be a potential star. Do yourself a favor and watch the film on him so you can decide for yourself.
