All of a sudden, the Philadelphia Eagles just can’t say goodbye to guys.

The Philadelphia Eagles have gone from being the team that moves on from guys a year or two too early (Brian Dawkins) to the team that consistently hangs on to guys a year or two too long (JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Mack Hollins).

Jason Peters is, perhaps, the best definition and example of this team’s inability to let go. In some ways, he’s another Carson Wentz. He’s been coddled. He’s been spoiled, and now that Philly’s created a six-foot-four monster that’s around 328 pounds, they’ve learned that the cost of feeding him (millions upon millions of dollars annually) is too high of a price to pay.

It doesn’t matter who they draft. It doesn’t matter how much Andre Dillard has progressed. Here’s what’s obvious. ‘The Bodyguard’ isn’t the same guy that earned seven Pro Bowl nods in an Eagles jersey (and nine total) anymore.

It’s time for Philly to say goodbye to this guy for once and for all. Perhaps you didn’t notice, but none of the other 31 teams called him last offseason. That wasn’t just a coincidence.
