At six-foot-seven and 270 pounds, Miami Hurricanes pass rusher Gregory Rousseau could be the perfect addition to the Philadelphia Eagles defensive line. He has rare speed for a man his size, and he’s a complete terror coming off the edge who could potentially make a lot of money by terrorizing opposing quarterbacks.

Built with a thick base that absolutely helps him in the running game and violent hands that help keep offensive linemen at bay, Rousseau is rarely fooled by misdirection. What’s most impressive is his versatility. He has the ability to be moved around the defensive front, and that normally helps his teammates in a multitude of ways.

This young man is potentially an above-average pass rusher that can be a boost for most NFL teams. Rousseau can completely take over a football game with his strength and freakish athleticism. He can also play in space as he has the natural speed to run down the quickest of runners and do so almost effortlessly.

The Philadelphia Eagles pass rush needs an immediate upgrade.

The Philadelphia Eagles need to add depth to their defensive line, especially on the edge where they lack pass rushers. While the defensive line has been one of the only bright spots over the last few years, the Birds need to identify new prospects as they’re clearly in rebuild mode.

Despite having first-time Pro-Bowler Brandon Graham, whose contract has actually expired, and an up-and-coming star in Josh Sweat, the Philadelphia Eagles pass-rushing depth chart has more questions than answers. Adding a player with Gregory Rousseau’s talent and tools would be a huge first step towards creating a dominant defense again.

Here’s a scouting quote Philadelphia Eagles fans would be very interested in.

We at ITI spoke briefly with a scouting source and asked him his take on the Miami Hurricanes product. While he did not want to be named he did have this to say:

"This kid is just another prospect in a long line of Hurricane defensive greats really. Greg Rousseau is a big-bodied guy that is built like a Greek god and has the crazy speed to come off the edge and destroy an offense. He is a big play waiting to happen, over and over man. Really, Rousseau has a way of taking over a game by frustrating an offensive line. He would be a huge get for whatever team lands him this year, truly a potential great."

If the Philadelphia Eagles have the opportunity to add a player like Gregory Rousseau in the 2021 NFL Draft, they should think long and hard about it. He would be an upgrade to a pass rush that is in need of a jolt of youth, and talent. Watch the film on Rousseau and make your own mind up, but don’t be surprised if you are clamoring for the Miami prospect in the first round.
