. . . Greg Newsome II, Northwestern. . player. 882

Newsome would be an upgrade for the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense.

At six-foot-one and 195-pounds, Northwestern Wildcats cornerback Greg Newsome II has size, raw speed, and ball skills that would boost the Philadelphia Eagles defense quickly. Blessed with the rare combination of aggressiveness that sets tones and the football intelligence that leads to him seemingly always being in the right place at the right time.

The Eagles’ defensive backfield would be lucky to add Newsome to their DB room as he has the game-changing ability the Birds have been in need of. He’s a physical corner that has a nose for the ball and loves contact in the running game. He also has the eye discipline to prevent him from falling for all of those misdirection plays that trick the Eagles’ defense on a weekly basis.

Adding the Northwestern product to this struggling defense could help in the long run and longterm. While Newsome may not be a household name at the moment, the media coverage will come as soon as everyone gets a load of his game.
