A Philadelphia Eagles legend: DeSean Jackson’s 5 most iconic moments
Don’t give Jackson and the Philadelphia Eagles bulletin-board material.
While a majority of the “Monday Night Massacre” was and still is focused on Michael Vick and his brilliant six-touchdown performance, it’s hard to forget what DeSean Jackson did to kick start things in front of a national audience.
Prior to kickoff, Jackson had gotten into a skirmish with cornerback DeAngelo Hall and safety LaRon Landry. The two were taunting the wideout about a brutal concussion he had suffered earlier in the season. According to those who were close by, Landry threatened Jackson saying “I’m going to put you asleep again” while Hall chimed in making pillow gestures at the wideout.
It would be Landry and Hall who appeared like they were sleeping on Philly’s first play from scrimmage.
D-Jax burned Landry and the entire Washington defense for an 88-yard touchdown. This wasn’t your average deep shot though. Jackson walked into the end zone backward, stared down Washington’s defenders, and the route was on.
10 only caught one more pass, but the opening play was enough to inspire Philly to a 59-28 victory.
