player. 54. . . . D-Jax sets Arlington on fire. 4

Death, taxes, and watching the Philadelphia Eagles burn Dallas are certain.

Jackson carried the Monday Night Massacre magic into Arlington a month later. D-Jax again struck on the first play of the game thanks to a 60-yard dart from Michael Vick. This one didn’t end with 10 in the end zone, but he was just getting warmed up.

Heading into the fourth quarter with the score tied at 20, Jackson hobbled onto the field despite an ankle injury that he suffered during the previous series. The Eagles needed something big to happen as a win would propel them into first place in the NFC East.

On first down, Vick attempted a ten-yard pass to the wideout. Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins attempted to jump the route but missed it by about an inch. That inch was all that Jackson needed. He hauled in Vick’s pass, turned upfield, and before you know it, he gave both Dallas and Birds fans a celebration both sides will always remember. Take a look:

NBC’s Cris Collinsworth summed the play up perfectly, when he stated “(Washington) will tell you that. There’s no way to catch him out there”.

He was right. Stopping Jackson in the open field was easier said than done. He finished the game with a career-high 210 yards on only four catches (52.5 yards per catch), a game that was highlighted by his go-ahead 91-yard touchdown.
