A Philadelphia Eagles legend: DeSean Jackson’s 5 most iconic moments
It was an electric reunion for D-Jax and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Coming off their first division title in three seasons, the Chip Kelly hype was at an all-time high. Unfortunately, Philadelphia Eagles fans would later figure out that the hype would eventually turn into ego-driven and questionable decisions. One of which was the release of fan-favorite DeSean Jackson.
This wouldn’t turn out well for the Eagles. Over the next five seasons, Jackson would suit up for both Washington and Tampa Bay. During that time, he’d occasionally cross paths with Philly, and each time, he’d find ways to torch them as he hauled in 24 receptions for 559 yards and three touchdowns, en route to a 5-1 record versus his former team.
You’re probably thinking. ‘Wait! We’re here to talk about the good times, right?’. Don’t worry. Here’s something that should make you smile.
After trading a sixth-round pick to the Buccaneers, it was official, DeSean Jackson was coming home. In his first game back at Lincoln Financial Field, the wideout dominated his former team. Only this time, it wasn’t Philadelphia on the receiving end of the bludgeoning. It was Washington’s turn.
Jackson finished the game with eight catches, racking up 154 yards and two touchdowns in the process. He also became the first Eagles player since Ben Hawkins in 1967 to have two touchdowns of 50+ yards in the same game. While this would end up being his best game during his second tenure with Philly, it’s still one that fans will never forget.
