Round 2: Cornerback Asante Samuel Jr, Florida State Seminoles

The last time the Philadelphia Eagles defense housed a corner named Samuel things worked out pretty well. His son, Asante Samuel Jr has all the tools to be just as good as his father was, but a much better tackler.

The Eagles’ defense is in dire need of cornerback help so landing the five-foot-ten prospect here would be a great acquisition. Considered a zone corner, Samuel has the ability to bait quarterbacks and carry out his role as a true ball hawk.

Despite being a smaller corner, this young man is an aggressive tackler and doesn’t shy away from contact when he sees the ball carrier. Adding the Seminole product would give Philly’s defense a great compliment to Darius Slay and someone that they can lean on.

With his rare combination of ball skills, soft hands, and football intelligence, Asante Samuel Jr would be the immediate upgrade the Birds’ defense has needed. While one priority should be finding talent to place around Jalen Hurts. This team can’t forget about helping the defense from top to bottom.
