Philadelphia Eagles seven-round mock following Carson Wentz’s trade
The Philadelphia Eagles add wide receiver and DB depth in Round 5.
Round 5, first selection: Wideout Nico Collins, Michigan Wolverines
At six-foot-four and 215-pounds, Michigan Wolverines wideout Nico Collins has the size and skill set to be a dominant force at the next level. Considered one of the top targets in the country just a year ago, Collins seems to have fallen on draft boards after taking the 2020 season off.
Needless to say, the Eagles would be lucky to land a wideout of Collins’ caliber this late in the selection meeting. He’d be an immediate upgrade to their receiver room.
Round 5, second selection: Defensive back Damar Hamlin, Pittsburgh Panthers
The Philadelphia Eagles continue to add talent to the defensive secondary here by drafting former Pitt Panther Damar Hamlin. He has all the tools to be a play-making safety for Philly’s defense.
The six-foot-one, 200-pound prospect has the versatility to be moved around the Birds’ defense. Adding a player with that type of talent can only help their defense moving forward. The front office needs to find some depth guys who can add leadership to the locker room. Hamlin is the perfect fit for that.
