Philadelphia Eagles, NFL Draft watch: Mocking all 32 picks in Round 1
By Smit Bajaj
Philadelphia Eagles fans watch a string of AFC teams pick between 21 and 25.
21. Indianapolis Colts: OT Jalen Mayfield, Michigan
Eagles fans are well aware of what Carson Wentz is capable of with an elite offensive line. While the Colts offensive front five is borderline elite, adding Jalen Mayfield would give them more versatility and another quality pass blocker. He’d likely play left tackle and eventually replace an iffy Chaz Green.
22. Tennessee Titans: Edge Jaelan Phillips, Miami
The Titans have an extremely potent offense, but their defense is an entirely different story. After recording the third least amount of sacks in the 2020 season, Tennessee will certainly look to add pass rushers. Jaelan Phillips is a lengthy defender who offers positional versatility and a unique blend of strength and athleticism.
23. New York Jets: LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Notre Dame
Owusu-Koramoah is a rangy linebacker whose college play earned him the Dick Butkus Award, an honor given to the best linebacker in college football. While he won’t excel in a middle linebacker role, the Notre Dame product is an explosive weak side linebacker who has tremendous instincts. The Jets would be lucky to land him at pick 23.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers: RB Najee Harris, Alabama
Even though the Steelers have an outstanding run-blocking offensive line, the team only managed an NFL worst 85 rushing yards per game this past season. James Connor and Benny Snell simply couldn’t get the job done. Drafting Najee Harris would remedy this problem. Harris has almost no weaknesses in his game and has shown the ability to thrive in any type of offensive scheme.
