Philadelphia Eagles, NFL Draft watch: Mocking all 32 picks in Round 1
By Smit Bajaj
Two NFC teams the Philadelphia Eagles want to topple get stronger.
29. Green Bay Packers: OT Liam Eichenberg, Notre Dame
The term associated with Liam Eichenberg most often is ‘pro-ready’. And for a team that is in win-now mode, this pairing makes sense. The Notre Dame product has extremely powerful hands and is regarded as one of the safest picks in this draft. At the very worst, he’d give the Packers’ offensive line some much-needed depth.
30. Buffalo Bills: Edge Carlos Basham, Wake Forest
With an aging defensive line, the Bills could benefit from a young and talented edge rusher that fits their aggressive 4-3 scheme. Carlos Basham is a solid fit in Buffalo due to his high floor and technically sound play style. Sean McDermott would love to add a guy like Basham in the 2021 draft.
31. Kansas City Chiefs: IOL Alijah Vera-Tucker, USC
The rich get richer, right? With the only notable hole in the Chiefs’ offense being their interior offensive linemen, they land Alijah Vera-Tucker in this NFL mock draft. He’s widely considered to be the best interior lineman in this draft. His ability to play tackle as well as the guard position would be valuable to the Chiefs as the Super Bowl exposed their lack of offensive line depth.
32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: IDL Christian Barmore, Alabama
To round out this NFL mock draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select a power rusher in Christian Barmore. With Ndamukong Suh and Shaq Barrett set to hit the market as free agents, the Bucs will look towards the draft as a way to add defensive talent. Barmore is regarded as the best defensive tackle in this draft and would immediately boost the Tampa Bay defense.
