What if the Philadelphia Eagles want a tackle and they don’t land Sewell?

At the time of this story being published, Philadelphia Eagles fans and the fans of just about every other NFL team will be venturing into unfamiliar territory. It’s at the end of February where we’re supposed to begin talking about 40-yard dash times and NFL Scouting Combine workouts, but as you’ve come to realize, we live in a different time.

Safety outweighs everything else, and we’ll have to remember what guys did on the field, especially if they didn’t play in 2020, to get an idea of what to expect going forward. many programs will still host Pro Days though, so that helps, but again, with safety being more important than anything else, this is the best way to handle things, at least for now.

Now, if you’re a Birds fan, you’ve heard all kinds of theories about what they should do at six. Taking offensive linemen isn’t exciting, especially when you have a high draft pick, but knowing you have your quarterback’s blindside protected means everything.

Philly has both Jordan Mailata and Andre Dillard in the fold, but some believe former Oregon Ducks standout Penei Sewell makes sense. Then, there’s this. Lane Johnson is getting older, and the injuries are coming more frequently.

Some think the Birds should take a quarterback or a wide receiver. Others say they should go with the best corner available. Others still believe they should trade back and stack more picks.

If Sewell is in the thought process, there’s a chance that he won’t be available when Philly is on the clock at six. With that being said, here’s a ranking of the top five offensive tackles that will be available once he’s off of the board if, again, the Birds are indeed in the market for some depth on the outside.
