Former Eagles QB Carson Wentz decides to leave something in Philly
We could live for the next 20 years and maintain contact with many of the friends and acquaintances that we’ve added to our inner circles. One thing would still be true. Philadelphia Eagles fans still wouldn’t have reached any common ground on how they felt about what Carson Wentz‘s legacy should be.
The former second-overall selection never won a playoff game. He barely has a .500 record for his career in the City of Brotherly Love at 35-32-1, so while it’s easy to understand why some are relieved that the ‘Wentz Wagon’ finally rolled out of town, there are others who gave him an elaborate sendoff like he was a conquering hero.
It seems strange, but this wouldn’t be the NFL’s most passionate fanbase if there weren’t varying opinions.
Carson Wentz leaves the city of Philadelphia a memento.
Here’s something worth noting. Even though Philly’s former franchise quarterback has been traded to the Indianapolis Colts and despite the fact that we’ve learned via Crossing Broad that he’s put his New Jersey home up for sale, Wentz will be leaving the City of Brotherly Love a reminder that, at one point, the Wentz wagon was more than a broken-down bus.
He’ll be leaving his Thy Kingdom Crumb food truck behind. Zach Wentz is Carson’s older brother and the executive director of the AO1 Foundation. here’s what he had to say on the matter. Credit NBC Sports Philadelphia’s dave Zangaro for the quote.
"We care about the people in this region. They’re a big part of our life, (and a) big part of where we are today, and we plan on (continuing) to serve the people in this area… This city has embraced us since Day 1. It’s been phenomenal. It has a special place in our heart, to be honest with you… The people here, the passion, the culture in this area is something that we never experienced before and it’s a part of us now. We want to continue to give back in this area just because it’s meant so much to us and it’s played a big part of our lives."
Fans may be split on how they feel about the guy that made the 11 Eagles jersey a must-have item, but it appears there’s still some love for the community that’s home to so many people that still have lots of love for him.
Thy Kingdom Crumb has been rolling through Philadelphia since 2018. By the looks of things and according to the Wentz brothers, it will continue to roll through town for “years to come”.
