Finding another star corner should be the Philadelphia Eagles’ focus early.

While the 2020 season was in full swing, one thing was made painfully clear each and every week. The Philadelphia Eagles‘ defense can’t compete when they face the star wideouts in the NFC. Even, and that was true even after they added cornerback Darius Slay. The Birds’ defensive backfield struggled to stop anybody.

Heading into the 2021 NFL Draft, the front office has the chance to fix this problem. When studying the long list of cornerbacks in this year’s draft, Philly fans across the country have reason to be excited. The Birds should be able to land a star.

Although Alabama’s Patrick Surtain and South Carolina’s Jaycee Horn have deservedly gotten all of the press as the draft’s top cornerbacks, there are so many names in this crop of prospects that will get teams smiling. Players who are blessed with potential star power could help the Philadelphia Eagles right away.

While a lot of fans will be clamoring for a corner in the first round, it’s more likely that the offensive-minded Nick Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman will add to the offense. Keeping that in mind, here are three cornerbacks that will be the front office’s best options once the draft moves into the second round.
