The University of Minnesota wideout Rashod Bateman is a six-foot-two, 210-pound athletic freak. He’s been blessed with the rare combination of size, speed, and soft hands that could help him become a dominant force for the Philadelphia Eagles‘ offense immediately.
Arguably the most underrated receiver in the 2021 NFL Draft. The former Golden Gopher has been a productive monster during his short college stint. He’s caught just under 150 receptions for over 2,000 yards and 19 touchdowns. He’s able to run a complete route tree, and he could be the most NFL-ready wideout coming out of the collegiate level.
He’s quick in and out of breaks and has the raw speed to separate from defenders. The big-bodied Minnesota product never seems to shy away from contact. He always seems to be a willing runner with the ball in his hands, and he’s a force to bring down.

The Philadelphia Eagles are in need of someone with Bateman’s ability.
Despite adding three wideouts in the 2020 NFL Draft (Jalen Reagor, John Hightower, and Quez Watkins), the Philadelphia Eagles front office needs to continue identifying talented players who could both be an immediate upgrade as well as a potential star for the Birds.
The 2020 NFL season was one of the ugliest in franchise history, especially when you consider the fact that this team’s offense was less than ideal. Philadelphia struggled to really get anything going last year. The running game didn’t assist the passing game and vice versa. When watching the film from 2020, it also seemed as though the wideouts struggled to separate in routes.
Here’s something that will interest Philadelphia Eagles fans everywhere.
We at ITI had the opportunity to speak with a scouting source and ask him his take on Rashod Bateman. While he did not want to be named, he did have this to say:
"This kid Rashod Bateman has been a really fun guy to watch on tape. You know he has all the tools to be a game-changer in the NFL. Since we are talking Philadelphia Eagles, imagining him with the young gunslinger (Jalen Hurts)… That could be a really great combination. He’s really flown under the radar but could be the best receiver no one knows. The kid could be a star in the league."
University of Minnesota receiver Rashod Bateman would be the perfect fit for the Philadelphia Eagles. With his skill set, he could potentially become a star at the next level quickly. The Birds have been in need of a talent like Bateman for some time now. The addition of a player of this caliber could help push this offense over the top, maybe even pushing them back to dominance.
