The second selection for the Philadelphia Eagles addresses the secondary.

Round 2, Pick 38: Landon Dickerson, center, Alabama Crimson Tide

At this point, it seems redundant to discuss the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive line struggles, but it’s a topic that won’t go away. Obviously, there are several reasons why that’s the case.

Here’s something to chew on the next time you and your buddies are arguing about the Birds on an unauthorized break at work. We keep talking about how Jason Peters, and Zach Ertz, and so many other familiar faces (like Jalen Mills) are candidates to leave the Eagles’ organization. It appears that Jason Kelce will be back for one more run in 2021, but it’s time to start planning for the day he calls it a career.

There are theories that Isaac Seumalo can slide over into the role of the offensive line’s anchor, but he’s done relatively well at left guard. If Philly takes the ‘best-player-available’ approach in the selection meeting, adding a talented future replacement for the legend might be the way to go.

Let’s make long stories short. We thought that Philly might take a center in 2020’s selection meeting. This time, they pull the trigger, and they do so by landing one the best prospects at the position, Landon Dickerson of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
