. Round 5: RB Trey Sermon. . player. 812. .

A pair of Ohio State Buckeyes for the Philadelphia Eagles in round five.

The Eagles already have a stud running back in Miles Sanders, but the running back depth chart is lackluster after him. Boston Scott is an adequate change of pace runner, but most fans can agree that he’s better off as a third-string back. Plus, it’s better to add a physical running back to complement Sanders’ explosiveness.

Enter Trey Sermon. He’s not the quickest, but what he lacks in agility he makes up for in toughness. A four-year starter at Ohio State, Sermon is an experienced and efficient back who has a knack for getting in the endzone.

He averaged a staggering 7.5 yards per rush in his senior year which speaks volumes about his ability to gain extra yards after contact. In the Big Ten championship game against 14th ranked Northwestern, he recorded 29 carries for an absurd 331 yards and two touchdowns. Sermon and Sanders would be a phenomenal one-two punch.
