What is it with the Philadelphia Eagles and these wide receivers?

It’s one of the longest ongoing issues with this Philadelphia Eagles team. Where in the world are the wide receivers? Why can’t this franchise ever seem to find suitable answers at the position?

Even if we talk about recent history, the names are too few and far between. There’s Mike Quick, Irving Fryar, and you can throw in a few guys like DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Outside of that, there isn’t much to get excited about.

The Eagles had a year and a few games with Terrell Owens. There’s the Hall of Famer Harold Carmichael. Philly even got a Pro Bowl season out of Fred Barnett, but more often than not, you get Mack Hollins, Shelton Gibson, and JJ Arcega-Whiteside.

Philly doesn’t just want John Hightower to succeed. They need him to become something. His rookie season was tough to watch, but there’s hope for a decent sophomore campaign. Here are three reasonable expectations for 82 in 2021.
