Well, Philadelphia Eagles fans everywhere have set their clocks ahead one hour, and that can only mean one thing. A new NFL year is upon us, and it’s time to talk roster moves, free agency rumors, and the draft.

Yes guys and gals, it’s time to put a roster together or at least begin the process, and the impending free-agency frenzy should allow Philly to do exactly that. At the midpoint of March, news broke involving two of the more tenured Birds, two Eagles who will always be remembered for their hand in the franchise’s first Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The Philadelphia Eagles seem to have decided the fate of B.G.

ESPN’s Tim McManus reported around lunchtime on March 15th via Jeremey Fowler that the Eagles organization was in talks with Brandon Graham to extend the veteran defensive end for another season. This one shouldn’t come as a surprise.

B.G., the author of the most famous strip-sack in Super Bowl history, turns 33 years young on April 3rd, but he’s also coming off of his first Pro Bowl season. Now, we can argue about whether or not he should at least have one more on his resume, but we can’t argue is this.

Philly doesn’t have that many Pro Bowl-caliber players on their roster. They’ve only drafted one since 2016 (Carson Wentz). It would be wise for them to hang on to the guys that they have who fall under that category.

For now, Graham’s deal appears to be done as well, and it will pay him $20 million over two years. That includes $13 million in 2021 which allows them to carry $7 million into 2022 to help them avoid some financial strain.

News also broke on March’s third Monday, thanks to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, that Jalen Mills is expected to sign with the New England Patriots. His deal is for four years and should pay him $24 million.

The Birds still have Marcus Epps, Rodney McLeod, and a young K’Von Wallace at the safety position as Rudy Ford has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Okay, Mr. Wallace! It’s time to see what you have young man! Philly snagged him in the fourth round of 2020’s NFL draft. He stuck his head in on 21 total tackles as a rookie.
