Let’s fix a few mindsets if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

As expected, the Philadelphia Eagles‘ executive vice president and general manager, Howie Roseman, found a way to finagle salaries and get the Birds under the cap for the beginning of the 2021 league year. Let this be a lesson to you. For months, many of you were told that this salary cap nightmare was an angle that was overblown and that the cap would take care of itself.

The staff here at ITI reminded you of that constantly. Yes, we were right, and we’re rubbing it in.

Now, here’s where some insight must also be provided. Those of you that are giving Howie too much credit need to tap the breaks a tad. What we mustn’t do is give Mr. Roseman a standing ovation for cleaning up a mess of his own making.

Philly will need to keep some coin handy so they can sign these 11 draft picks they’ll be adding in April, so while the franchise is in decent shape at the moment, this team won’t be able to go completely crazy and sign big-name prospects. Heck, they may not be able to sign that many lesser-known guys either.

The second day of the new league year was evidence of that as the Birds added to defensive pieces for depth. Here’s a look at both of them and the grades for each signing.
