5 Philadelphia Eagles, Alabama targets not named Waddle, Surtain, Smith

829. . . . Christian Barmore, defensive tackle. . player
It’s hard to imagine scenarios where Barmore joins the Philadelphia Eagles.
The six-foot-five, 310-pound Christian Barmore is, more than likely, a first-rounder come draft time. No, that doesn’t quite describe things accurately enough. Come draft time, this young man might be the first defensive tackle taken.
Washington’s Levi Onwuzurike is good. So is Daviyon Nixon out of the Iowa Hawkeye’s program, but you can argue that Barmore is already better and already has a higher upside than both of them.
He had a bit of an up and down 2020 campaign, but he still managed 37 total tackles, including 9.5 that resulted in a loss of yardage, and eight sacks. That gives him 63 total tackles with 15.5 for a loss, ten sacks, five pass breakups, and three forced fumbles for his 22-game career.
It’s hard to imagine a scenario where Philly takes a defensive tackle in Round 1, so this is a guy you can probably rule out as a realistic option. He’s so good that Philly still needs to give him a look and place him on their draft board though.
