The Philadelphia Eagles can’t keep postponing what needs to happen.

For most Philadelphia Eagles fans, whenever the subject of the center position came up prior to the 2020 NFL Draft, two thoughts came to mind. One, though Jason Kelce committed to play one more season, we know that he won’t play for too much longer. Second, it might be a wise move to draft a potential successor.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. It’s 2021, and again, we’re talking about this possibly being Kelce’s last season and whether or not the Birds will draft a true center.

Often, it’s been mentioned that Isaac Seumalo could just slide over to his right, but there are several draft pundits and publications, ITI included, that believe it’s wise to draft a center and groom him to take over for Mr. Kelce.

Currently, the Birds also have Luke Juriga on the roster, but if they aren’t totally satisfied with or confident in him, don’t be surprised if Landon Dickerson‘s name is one that you begin hearing a little more often as we near the end of April. He’s six-foot-six. He tips the scales at 308 pounds.

There will be some concern about a season-ending knee injury that he sustained in the SEC Championship Game versus Florida this past December, but he got some second-round and third-round grades before that. If that injury forces him to slip and Philly can get him in the third round or later, he might be too attractive an option to ignore.
