Let’s talk about the Philadelphia Eagles and all of those rumors for a spell.

It’s been an interesting couple of weeks if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan. We’ve all discussed contract restructures, mock drafts, the reacquisition of familiar Birds (Adrian Killins, Hassan Ridgeway), and the departure of former heroes (Jalen Mills, Alshon Jeffery).

By hook or by crook (or both), Howie Roseman got Philadelphia under the required salary cap number, and then, he and the Birds’ head coach, Nick Sirianni, sat with the media on March 18th.

The highlight of that one was Rob Maaddi asking Howie about all of the claims of the Eagles organization being dysfunctional, a question that, seemingly, caught Philly’s vice president and general manager off guard. Seriously, how could he be oblivious to this? Certainly, he’s heard the chatter right? Seriously, who hasn’t?

This is just another marker in a timeline that’s seemingly shown that the Philadelphia Eagles, once seen as one of the NFL’s most stable franchises, are now one of the laughingstocks of this great game that we love. Sadly, many of the reasons for that are circumstances that are easy to diagnose and under their control.

The Philadelphia Eagles, once one of the NFL’s most stable franchises, have become an organization that seemingly can’t do anything quietly. It’s like they’ve switched places with the Dallas Cowboys, and they can’t seem to do anything without making a ton of noise.

Have you ever seen so many anonymous quotes and so many rumors that were associated with this team? There’s a word for that, and that word is dysfunction. It’s exhausting if you’re a fan or member of the media, but all hope isn’t lost. Let’s all breathe for a second and try to make sense of this. Let’s talk about this rumor mill and what we should all gain from it.
