Perhaps the Philadelphia Eagles should draft a defensive tackle instead?
Here’s something that just about every Philadelphia Eagles fan can agree on. The methods this team uses to build the roster must change. A team can’t keep missing on their draft picks and keep trying to mask things by signing old and expensive free agents to bridge them to the next unsuccessful draft class.
If you haven’t noticed, recently, Eagles executive vice president and general manager Howie Roseman seems to have adopted something into his yearly offseason gameplan, signing defensive tackles from the AFC who are good but not great. He hasn’t done so in 2021, at the time of this story being published, but don’t think he isn’t thinking about it.
Here’s what might prove to be a better idea. Maybe Philly should draft a defensive tackle instead? Florida’s Tedarrell Slaton is another guy that might be available in the middle rounds. He’s six-foot-five. He’s 340 pounds, and in 38 career games, he racked up 99 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, and an interception.
