The Philadelphia Eagles could use a player like Gareon Conley.

Talking about free-agent cornerbacks is a touchy subject for Eagles fans. Thankfully for them, Gareon Conley is one of those guys that could change the narrative.

Philadelphia has a history with the former Ohio State cornerback. Before the 2017 NFL draft, the Eagles hosted Conley and were even rumored to select him with the 14th-overall selection. While they ultimately decided to forgo the decision, Howie Roseman could be interested in bringing him back.

The problem with the 25-year old isn’t his production on the field. It’s the ability to stay on the field. According to PFF, Conley has forced incompletions on 22.2 percent of his targets since 2017. That ranks second in the league over that span. The downside is that during that same period, he’s only played in 26 games, which could ultimately halt the Eagles’ interest.

The Eagles have reportedly been trying to improve the cornerback situation in free agency as the team has been linked to players such as Adoree’ Jackson, but with Jackson signing with the Giants, adding Gareon Conley might be the next best thing. It’s also something that they’re fully capable of doing.
