We need to restate that the Philadelphia Eagles need to help Miles Sanders.

Let’s get something straight, and let’s do so immediately. Philadelphia Eagles fans don’t know more about the game than the coaches do. Some of them acknowledge that. Some of them believe that they have all of the answers because they’re really good at EA’s Madden game.

Here’s the thing. Real players won’t always spin when you want them to because there’s no ‘circle button’ for fans to hit from the couch (or a ‘B button’ if you play on the XBOX). Coaches have to deal with emotions, injuries, attitudes, and if we’re discussing the Eagles, Philly’s leadership structure.

Trust us on this one guys and gals. You wouldn’t have been a better coach in 2020 for the Eagles than Doug Pederson was.

That isn’t to say that coaches are perfect or fans don’t know what they’re talking about. Sure, most of us knew that Justin Jefferson was a better option than Jalen Reagor in the 2020 NFL Draft, but some of you also thought bringing back Jordan Howard and LeSean McCoy were ‘slam dunks’.

Yes, these coaches are better equipped to do the job. That’s why they have the job, but who knows why Philly stuck with Mack Hollins or Corey Clement for so long or why they felt like Miles Sanders, a guy who’s five-foot-eleven and 211 pounds, needed to be a workhorse.

Sanders is amazing, but Philly has to protect their best assets. Boobie is one of those assets, and he needs help. Here’s a ranking of Philly’s best backup options as of the end of March. Sit down if you need to. This isn’t for the faint of heart.
