Summary:

The point system helped make this decision much more transparent because it is hard to discount New York’s two Super Bowl wins. Still, once everything is settled, the extra Super Bowl victory the Giants hold over the Eagles wasn’t enough to overcome Philadelphia’s sustained contention over the course of the last 20 seasons.

They have the best overall record, the best divisional record, and the most NFC Championships by a longshot. The Eagles also have the most total playoff appearances, the most playoff wins, and they are second to only the Giants in Super Bowl victories.

Philly is the only team with a winning record against every NFC East team over the last 20 years, but for the longest time, it looked like the Eagles would never get it done and win football’s biggest game. They finally did it on a night no Birds fan will ever forget.

Their miraculous 2017-2018 season was capped by a championship ride down Broad Street. Things have changed though. Philadelphia was a total circus act in 2020. Carson Wentz was tossing screen passes halfway to Serbia, and Doug Pederson was farting in bathtubs while laughing his butt off.

Both Doug and Carson are gone, and the next two decades are off to a rocky start, but this list wasn’t about the next 20 years. It was about the past 20 years, and the Eagles have been the best in the NFC East over that time. Period.
