Ja'Marr Chase, wide receiver. . player. 817. . .

Take the Philadelphia Eagles’ name out of the Ja’Marr Chase sweepstakes.

Raise your hand if you’re one of those Birds fans that just keep watching mock drafts and you woke up and said to yourself one day “Hey, we might actually wind up with Ja’Marr Chase“. Don’t be shy now! It’s okay. There’s no need to feel like you’re being hung out to dry because you’re definitely not alone.

The more we analyzed team needs and where the Eagles were sitting, it became more and more apparent that Philly had a realistic shot of landing the six-foot, 208-pound stud that many had labeling as the best wide receiver prospect in the coming selection meeting.

Chase sat out of the 2020 campaign due to COVID-19 concerns, but no one forgot how good he was. Philly probably had a shot at getting him at six, especially if there was a surprise or a run or quarterbacks, but now, with the Philadelphia Eagles sitting at 12, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where Chase gets past both Miami and Detroit.

Scratch this young man’s name off of the list because there’s no way on Planet Earth that he’s falling into the teens in terms of where he comes off of draft boards.
