This one’s mind-boggling. Even now, there are a ton of Philadelphia Eagles fans that look at Patrick Surtain II like they’re waiting on him to be exposed by somebody or something.

Some theories suggest he may fall during the selection meeting. We’ve all heard analysis that states there are concerns about whether or not he’s a liability in man coverage. Patrick Surtain II is as close to an elite talent as this draft has at the cornerback position though.

Is he polished? No, he isn’t completely, but who is in this draft? If you look hard enough, you can find fault with just about every cover corner guy that’s entering the selection meeting. That isn’t an exaggeration.

Here’s a newsflash though. That’s why NFL teams employ positional coaches. Surtain is going to be a star, and it’s almost laughable that he isn’t being valued higher than he is. Here’s the evidence that scouting isn’t an exact science and can be overdone sometimes.
