829. . . . CB Patrick Surtain II, Alabama . . player

The Philadelphia Eagles need to continue to build up their passing defense.

At six-foot-two and 205-pounds, Patrick Surtain II has the prototypical size along with the talent to be a star for the Philadelphia Eagles. A potential shut down corner, the Alabama prospect has the tools and the skillset that NFL coaches wish all of their defensive backs had. The Birds could use a player like Surtain to help them compete in the NFC East.

The son of an NFL Star, Surtain has the football intelligence to be used in a multitude of ways. Along with the maturity you rarely see in a rookie, he is a physical force in the running game as he always seems to find himself in the mix. He loves to put his nose on the ball while punishing ball carriers.

If the Eagles front office is lucky enough to find Surtain sitting there at the twelfth pick, they should sprint to the podium to get their man. Adding the Crimson Tide cornerback could give the Birds one of the best sets of cover guys in the entire NFL.
