829. . . . Round 1: Devonta Smith, Alabama. . player

DeVonta Smith could be the perfect weapon for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver DeVonta Smith has all the tools to be an absolute superstar for the National Football League. Already a fan favorite in some eagles circles, Smith has the skill set to be the weapon that pushes the Philadelphia Eagles offense over the top.

Adding him to help second-year gunslinger Jalen Hurts would be an excellent move by this team’s front office and leadership structure.

Arguably the most dominant receiver in college football history, the Heisman Trophy winner is a defensive headache. He has the ability to line up in so many areas in the offensive formation. Smith just needs the ball in the hands as he can score from anywhere on the football field. He is also an amazing return man and is always a threat to pop a big play.

The Eagles have to add talent around Hurts if they are ever going to compete in the NFC East again. The former Crimson Tide star could be the perfect acquisition to help them. Imagining Smith and Hurts growing together in their careers will have Philadelphia Eagles fans smiling from ear to ear.

Landing him here with the twelfth pick could be a real steal, one that could pay dividends for years to come.
