Philadelphia Eagles: 5 Boom or bust late-round SEC offensive prospects
Here’s a late-round receiving option for the Philadelphia Eagles.
One of the guys that had one of the best seats in the house for all of those brilliant runs by Asim Rose was his teammate, Josh Ali. That’s when he wasn’t putting in work himself. Check out the resume if you’re one of those college football fans that weren’t paying a lot of attention to what these Kentucky Wildcats were doing on Saturdays.
Over the course of 35 career games at the collegiate level, Ali hauled in 90 receptions while racking up 846 yards and five touchdowns. Don’t fret too much if you’re a stats maven though. It’s not like the Wildcats were running college football’s version of Air Coryell.
In 2020, Kentucky moved another wide receiver, Lynn Bowden, to the quarterback position, but he was basically more of a running signal-caller. It would have been nice to see how Ali could have functioned with more of a traditional passer.
He’ll get his shot in the NFL. The questions are will that be as a Day-3 draftee and are the Philadelphia Eagles among the interested teams?
